bad news for concert goers

Live Nation (formerly Clear Chanel) the largest concert promoter in the country has just acquired House of Blues the second largest concert promoter in the country. Get ready for even more advertisements and corporate sponsors at concerts. The only good thing I can see coming of this is the fall of Ticketmaster. But who cares trading one corporate giant for another isn't necessarily a good thing.

I like how they changed their name to "Live Nation" so that people might think they were actually going to a show NOT put on by Clear Channel.

Globlization and big buisness is one of my favorite topics of dicussion. It kills culture and innovation and replaces it with sameness. Get ready for the same safe tours garenteed to make money year after year. Don't forget that skyrocketing ticket prices. You want to see new interesting music forget about it. At least in the House of Blues/ticketmaster venues. Could go on and on but I'll spare everyone.
