overreactions from a scared country
2 people were arrested in Boston yesterday after placing several light boxes around the city. The boxes have a picture of Ignignot from Aqua Teen Hunger Force sticking up his middle finger. It's part of a nationwide publicity campaign to promote Aqua Teen's upcoming movie. The boxes are totally harmless. Yet the city is hell bent on prosicuting either the people who planted the devices or the company that hired them to do so. "Hoaxes are a tremendous burden on local law enforcement and counter-terrorism resources and there's absolutely no place for them in a post-9/11 world." Give me a fucking break. This country has completly lost it's sense of humor. Over 5 years after 9/11 and we're still a bunch of scared little girls.

I have been reading up on that a little bit and I find some of the information interesting. No one called the police for two to threes weeks while the characters where up.
"I find it kind of ridiculous that they're making these statements on TV that we must not be safe from terrorism, because they were up there for three weeks and no one noticed. It's pretty commonsensical to look at them and say this is a piece of art and installation," he told The Globe."
Then all of the sudden the police department received a rash of phone calls all at the same time. No locals appeared to make the calls. The police are not sure where they came from.
"The rash of calls around the same time is being investigated, Davis said. When asked if the calls were coordinated as part of the marketing campaign, he said: "There's no indication it came from panicked residents."

By the way I can't fucking wait for that movie to come out.
If this is a marketing stunt it's amazing. The show has that cultish following only. It's getting all kind of free nationwide publicity from the incident. What ever legal fees are incurred will be dwarfed by the revenue generated from this.
