Tool?
I heard a nasty rumor last night on the radio, something about a new album from Tool. Word on the streets is that it should be out after the new year, but who really knows with Maynard. Anybody heard anything that would lead me to believe this is true?

Rumors swirl around that band like no other. I have heard the band is done recording and waiting for Maynard to lay down tracks, that they are currently in the studio recording at this moment, and that Maynard will never record another album with tool again. It's soooo uncertain and dramatic. I have seen several pictures recently of Tool members in the studio laying down tracks and that reinforces the possiblity of a new album. Honestly with two albums in ten years I don't know if I'd really call them much of a band anymore. Tool has become more like a side project for the members of the band.
That's a good point... to only release 2 albums in such a span of time, it is more of a side project. A Perfect Circle has released a total of 3 albums since 2000. So you see where his focus is.
Also, I found some articles online from as early as April of 2004, stating that the band had enough material for an album and were working on getting it all down. Then there are release predictions of late 2004, early 2005, and now early 2006.
Tool also recently hosted some sort of Q&A session with fans, but a transcript (or any info) has yet to be released.
Seems like they're trying to build suspense and anticipation, in hopes of generating more interest, or maybe everything is just fucked up.
