A non-Sony post
So, the band Hot Hot Heat has been recommended to me by Amazon as well as Yahoo music, and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on them. I've heard a song or two, and I think they could be decent, but I also think they could get annoying if the entire record sounds like those songs. Any info appreciated.
Also, I've been told by a (somewhat unreliable) source that the band My Chemical Romance is pretty good. I would prejudge it to be some sort of power pop, or pop-wanting-to-be-punk, but I've actually never heard any of their stuff. Let me know. Thanks.

Hot Hot Heat was good but don't buy elevator, their new album, it's crap. Elevator was their attempt to be MTV darlings, which failed for a number of reasons. The first and foremost because it was watered down and lost a lot of energy and sing-a-long qualities. But, do pick up Make up the Breakdown. It came out a couple years ago and has the beginnings of a dancehallpunkrocknroll sound.
My Chemical Romance is okay, I don't particularly like them although Tom, my roommate, does but he also likes Good Charlotte.
Yea, I had a feeling they were along the lines of Good Charlotte, minus Hillary Duff.
