there is a box on the right hand side of the page where you can find out how long it takes the average american CEO to make what you make...

one be lo

okay, brad, I agree... this album is fucking sick. It's old school in a way that makes me feel old to call old school. Sometimes it sounds like Tribe, others Pharcyde there's some Blackstar influence. It's fucking great. If I didn't know better I'd say it came out about 8-10 years ago (and that's a good thing). I probably listen to it about 3 times a day and have been recomending it to everyone I know that listens to hip-hop. If you haven't heard it check it here...

Taint

Not the best of stories but something that will at the same time ruin and make your day. At least it did for me. I'll start with the bad, recently I've discovered that Missy Elliott has ruined another song from the past that has more effect on others than myself. She went ahead and remade/used Sugarhill's Apache in one of her latest installments of crap that somehow makes her money and people buy. As stated before Apache has special meaning since everytime I heard it playing I was drunk and stupid in Athens. That bitch.

And the good...later on at the gym (same place where I heard the crappy song) I caught a glance of the cardio striptease class. At the time nothing could have been more funny than seeing a bunch of unorthodox fat women trying to learn how to strip.

one be lo

Brad,

You said One Be Lo's S.O.N.O.G.R.A.M. was the best hip-hop since mos def's black on both sides. That's a bold statement. Maybe what you meant was it's the album that Mos Def should've put out instead of The New Danger. He certainly has a cadance influenced by Mos Def and similar messages. This album will be on rotation all summer. It's got the type of beats that turn the corners of your mouth up while bobbing your head along. Feeling good, genuinely good.

Ghostface Killah

Fishscale, Ghotface Killah's newest album, is the best new hip-hop in awhile. If you haven't already heard...

bicurious

Vicarious, the new Tool single has been released. Search around for it and give a listen. It sounds like it could be on Lateralus. Good stuff.

I see what's going on here...

So Brad, I take it you don't like Dylan or my contributions to the club, eh? Everyone else has 2 months but us... I see how it is.

Upcoming musica

So, despite the lazy bastards' best efforts to keep me from the distribution schedule for Club de la Musica (We still don't have the schedule readily available on the left side), I believe that Mike is up for April. I'm not putting any pressure on you, as it's not even the middle yet.... I'm just wondering if you've got an idea of what's on tap. I've been itchin to buy certain albums, but I don't want to get some for free in a week or 2. Let me know.... thanks.

Big Problem!!!!

I propose the boycott of the Google ads, for the following reason:

I just saw an ad for the CMT Awards and Rascal Flats..... FFFFFUCK THAT!!!! In no way, shape, or form has anyone mentioned anything even remotely related to country music.... And if so, it was sooooo obviously in the guise of humor, that Google should have known it was a joke.... they can do just about everything else....

I don't know about everyone else, but I don't want this blog defamed by the face of Country "music"...

Saw cyhsy last night and my ears are still ringing. They were LOUD, much louder than I expected and the energy level was high all night. Maybe it's because they're wrapping up the best year of their lives that they performed with the enthusiasm of a teen garage band trying to win a local battle of the bands contest. The sheer volume detracted from some of the songs but ultimately the crowd was won over and so was I.
