Battles Mirrored

Download Battles debut album "Mirrored". Very hard to describe, it's very listenable math-rock I guess, It's definetley not for everyone, but give it a listen with an open mind. Here are some quotes from reviews that got me interested:

"a genuine fuck you to the people claiming modern music has nowhere left to go"
-Playlouder

"sounds less like rock circa 2007 than rock circa 2097"
-Pitchfork

"a unique album with little to no similar peers."
-Sputnikmedia

"Mirrored is a marvel, dastardly and wholly original as it is, and one of the year’s finest."
-Tiny Mix Tapes

Music Posting

I definitely like the new way we are sharing music. However, I'd like to bring back the description of the music posted. For instance, a quick sentence about the band's style, similar artists, etc. And also a few tracks to check out as a sort of "screening" of the band.

So far, there's been a lot of music transfered around, and I find myself not giving certain bands a chance because I don't know who they are.

I know that the reason I post music is to try to introduce everyone to a band that I like, but who you may not have heard previously. As such, I like to give you as much incentive to listen as I can. That is what I like to see in return, and it makes me more likely to give your music a try. So, the more info you can provide on a particular artist, the easier the "screening" process will be. Just a thought...

iGasm

High street adult retailer Ann Summers has landed itself in a heap of trouble with Apple.

The retail chain has been promoting a £30 sex toy called the iGasm, a device which connects to any music player and offers users an erotic vibrating treat in time to the beat.

A News of the World report claims Apple is furious about Ann Summer's promotion of the device, and is demanding all posters for the gadget be taken down, under threat of court action.

The neon-pink posters depict an underwear-clad female silhouette holding an oval white device with two cables - one connected to a pair of white headphones, the other heading down toward the female's knickers.

The sales pitch urges music fans to: "Go at it hard and fast with a pounding drum 'n' bass track or chill with an ambient classic."

Apple is claiming the ad to be an abuse of the silhouette-based images it uses in its own advertising.

Ann Summers hasn't bowed to Apple's threats, the report explains.
